Thirza Cuthand

Originally from Saskatchewan (born in Regina/raised in Saskatoon), we are thrilled to have Thirza Cuthand in attendance to give an artist talk, a performance and to do a Q&A following the Saturday night screenings in Yellowknife and Thunder Bay. For over 22 years, Thirza has been making Intimate, humourous, painful, and engaging short films about sexuality, madness, youth, love, and race. Her videos have shown internationally including screenings at Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, Oberhausen International Kurzfilmtage in Germany, The National Gallery in Ottawa and many times at Queer City Cinema since the very beginning. They are of Plains Cree and Scots descent, a member of Little Pine First Nation, and currently reside in Toronto.
