Hi, My Name is Lilliana

Lilliana Rice, 5:00

Filmmaker and animator Lilliana Rice explores the complicated identity of being a mixed native. Lilliana finds resiliency in feigning ignorance to accrue power within the industry so as to break down systems that are not made for Indigenous People.

Atmospheric Arrivals

Ayo Tsalithaba, 6:00

Atmospheric Arrivals is about home and the (im)possibility of return. The ‘atmospheric arrival’ captures a means of coming into being through memory and imagination; by reaching across spacetimes to ‘fetch’ parts of the self that may exist in elsewheres.

Land/Escapes

Julia C Liu, Jessica Dellecave & zave martohardjono, 5:57

Land/Escapes considers the present-day responsibilities of settlers. Two queer immigrant settlers build, play, melt, and devolve in fantastical lands and amidst crumbling colonial estates. Cycling and stunted, these occupiers of unceded lands ask “Where do we go?”

Boob

Lokchi Lam, 7:00

A 7-min rom com about a large left breast struggling with insecurities about its masculinity. Content warning: nudity, lots of nudity, and general weirdness. No sexual content, though.

Transfusion

Cyril W. Chen, 4:10

Set in a mythical grain elevator church in small-town Saskatchewan, Jo, a semi-closeted teen, gets possessed right before their older brother's re-baptism. New worlds, spirits and orders collide as a divine spirit guides Jo in the overturning of a corrupt priest.

Be Vardų, Be Kojų

Brigita Gedgaudas, 3:00

Be Vardu, Be Koju, meaning ‘without names, without legs’, is an experimental, animated, dance film investigating queer movement in Lithuanian folk dance. Using photograms made from scanning dancers performing specific male and female folk dance steps, these new digital dancers explore their bodies in the indeterminacy of digital space.

Punk Fish

Miguel Maldonado, 12:00

In a rebellious fusion of punk ethos and gender identity, Unapologetic Resonance delves into the poignant tale of a transgender protagonist defying societal norms and finding their true voice amidst the vibrant underground punk scene.

Sanaa, Seductress of Strangers

Jan Eilhardt, 3:00

For years, Sanaa has been working as a tour guide in the Berlin district of Wedding. But work is not enough to satisfy her. She is stubborn and trans. Her passion for the migrant men in the neighborhood, in fact, really keeps her on her toes.

You are Here

Sarah Hill, 9:00

A love letter between Hayley Morgenstern and Sarah Hill. We started this film before we were even pregnant, it was our way of bringing you here. This film portrays a nonlinear narrative of the alienating process of becoming pregnant as a trans and non-binary couple. The images move between claymation, animation, paper dolls receiving medical care, puppets and live footage and archival footage from our previous collaborations as well as found audio from a 1950’s informational pregnancy video. The rabbit is the third character in the film, representing a multitude of histories in regards to pregnancy and eventually becomes our baby.

You Suffer

oualie frost, 2:22

Sometimes, escapism can become the very thing you're running from. You Suffer is a short pseudo-psychological experimental film indulging both my angst and my most nerdy desires. In my failing attempts to be a benevolent god, I do what simmers have done since the year 2000 and drown my creation. RIP

Magic in Plain Sight

Paige Gratland, 11:52

Magic in Plain Sight is a portrait of self-taught seamstress Brenna Bezanson, a change-maker in her own right, who challenges capitalist and patriarchal ideals in her creation of custom women's clothing. Brenna takes us through her wardrobe of hand-made garments, each a journal entry, talisman, and bit of magic she wears out into the world.
