2boys.tv

For the 2008 edition of Queer City Cinema, 2boys.tv will present their newest multimedia creation, PHOBOPHILIA (arousal from fear). The duo invites a small number of spectators to a secret location to witness a peculiar interrogation. "This is my life, and it is the truth" confesses the man being questioned, and as further explanation an elaborate pop-up book is produced upon which is projected his story. A delicate and miniature performance work, PHOBOPHILIA seeks to pose the question "what is the role of the poet in an age characterized by fear?", and is inspired by research into the life and art of one of the 20th century's most notorious queer artists, Jean Cocteau.
