Harold Offeh - born in Accra, Ghana - lives in London, UK
Covers live is a development of Harold Offeh’s ‘Covers’ project, an ongoing series of performances in which he attempts to transform a series of music album covers from the 70s & 80s into durational performances. The series has been developed through photographs, video and live performance. The live series was formalized for presentations at MAC, Birmingham, UK and subsequent performances at Abrons Arts Center, New York and Chelsea Theatre, London in 2013. In the work, Offeh presents as tableaux his copy of an album cover image. His performance and the original image are juxtaposed and further given context by the playing of 1 track from the album, this in turn determines the length of the performance by Offeh. (please note this performance sometimes contains male nudity and may not be suitable for a general family audience)
